Whether you think of this long weekend as Victoria Day Weekend, The May Two Four, Cottage Opening Weekend or the beginning of summer, it’s here. If a visit to your Haliburton waterfront property is in your plans, be advised that the blackflies and mosquitoes will be there to greet you. If you spend any time along your waterfront or on the water, you may see early signs of returning or new Eurasian Watermilfoil. No need for alarm - this is our new normal. The EWM Working Group is already prepping for spring surveillance and commercial diver assisted control activities (July 16-19). Once again our valued corps of volunteers will be at the ready to assist as needed.
